The Arrangement Series created by Felix Oppen in 2014. The six works in the series explore harmonies of a collection of colours that resonate strongly for Felix and that, incidentally, he has used frequently in his communication design work. This exploration has further been combined with an investigation into the geometries of the Golden Section as inspired by Le Corbusier in his seminal creation The Modulor. Additional imagery are of objects found in Felix's studio at the time.
Felix is a designer with over 20 year’s experience. His self-directed work has grown out of his design practice and he uses it to 'research' ideas that can inform his design work, through the use of composition, photography and relief and digital printing. Felix has also been a lecturer in design. In this role he has created and taught courses in typeface design, typography, typographic systems, identity development, brand management, data visualisation, wayfinding, design studio management, design research, and pre-press at a tertiary level. Felix is a co-author of a text book on Graphic Design in Australia. He is co-owner of Tiliqua Press and publisher and co-editor of Ligature Journal.
